Bridging the gap between long car rides and comfort for your pooch.

Sometimes your pup just needs a little more open space in your car to feel secure and comfortable while traveling. It’s a difficult dog’s life when you don’t know whether to be oversized and under protected on a lofty seat – or to hunker down on the not-so-soft floor, making it difficult as the owner to practice proper car/dog safety. The Back Seat Bridge does (you guessed it) just what its names says, and bridges the gap between your front and rear seats, so falling to the floor is never a problem for your pup.

With a few simple attachments this padded bridge connects between seats to extend Fido’s spot, providing the extra comfortable space that they need to have a happy ride. There is a fold down center barrier that acts as a wall just in case you stop short, and also a built in cup holder and pocket for organization.

  1. Stronger than expected

Posted by Matthew Decker on 5th Apr 2013

I noticed that the bridge was holding up better than expected so I climbed into the back seat and curled up. I am 170lbs and it held me just fine. Very impressive product.

  2. All for my dog

Posted by CJ on 27th Jan 2013

The back seat bridge was just what I needed in my Jeep, which I just bought to take my German Shephard with me. I keep the back seats down, and the bridge takes care of the small open area between and also the area between the two front seats. I would like to see it a little longer but still it works fine.

  3. Best thing ever.

I bought this for my pet who has bad legs and hips. We keep the back set down for him and he would always fall between the set and the floor and hurt himself. I would put lots of covers to keep him from falling but it never worked. I seen this product and gave it a try. And it works GREAT we love it. He now can ride safe and can't hurt himself. THANK YOU so much. This is FANTASTIC, the best product yet!!!!

  4. Fantastic, just what the dogs needed

Posted by Crystalynne on 30th Sep 2012

We're preparing to drive cross country to relocate, and we're bringing our three dogs with us. We were dreading how they would manage a 4-5 day drive in the backseat, with little to no space to move and the oh-so-common threat of falling into the foot space between the two seats. I saw this product (after days of searching through car 'hammocks', which I wasn't thrilled about) and purchased it for the reviews it has. WOW. Better than expected. We tested it out today and our three dogs love it. Sturdy, doesn't even bend with weight, and all of the dogs aren't scared to walk on it. Couldn't be happier - I would have paid 4x the cost for this! Exceptionally well made! Thank you Kurgo!

  5. Love it, except it is just a foot too short for my truck.

I love the backseat bridge! The only thing is I own a Dodge Ram 1500 with a quad cab and the bridge is a foot too short so it hangs down from the seats and doesn't quite cover the entire floor. So if you could make the straps just a foot longer as well as the length of the bridge a foot longer, that would be perfect. I make do with it now and pile stuff under it when I use it for long trips, to keep it from falling in. It is perfect other wise! Thank you!

  6. Improved safety for travelling with an Irish Setter

Posted by Tony Read on 1st Sep 2012

The product is very good, only 2 issues. The gap between the front & rear seats on my 98 Deville is a bit too wide for the bridge so had to pack the floor wells below to support it. Also the cup holder only faces forward with the black side upwards.

  7. Great product!

I have a 68 lb Labrador and this works perfect. I do not have to worry about her falling between the seat and the floor. holds her weight with no problem. Easy and fast to remove and put back on. very happy i made the purchase

  8. Great solutions for safe traveling with my dogs!

Posted by Arydeb on 22nd May 2012

A couple of years back I got the Kurgo Wander Hammock, then 2 Zip lines, 2 Tru-fit harnesses, the Back-seat Barrier, 2 wonder Bowls and finally I was super happy to get just now the Backseat Bridge! What great inventions! I feel that my dogs are comfortable and safe when we go for a ride.
The Backseat Bridge was the only thing missing to make my dogs totally comfortable and safe in the car. The Hammock is great, but my large dogs tended to fall over themselves in the soft area hanging between the seats. Now they are on solid ground both on the car seats and in between! Great job guys!

  9. Awesome Solution! I can save my leather seats!

Posted by Jose Alejandro & "Maximus", Orlando, FL on 26th Apr 2012

I received a 2011 Mazda 6, with black, custom leather interior, as a graduation present from my parents, little did i figured my 2.5 year pitbull Maximus (64 lbs.) will soon be leaving paw prints everywhere. The backseat bridge has been the solution i've been looking for! it bridges the gap in the backseat with ease (in my car, the gap is 14 inches). Kurgo, you guys have outdone yourselves! The black matches the leather, and the extra cargo space allows me to take extra bowls, towels and treats. I go hiking with my Maximus about 4 times a month. for maximum protection it goes great with the bench seat cover and car door guard. Its very easy to clean, just vacuum and wipe off mud/dirt. You dont have to take it off, it stays put and ready.
I know many pet owners usually have trucks or SUVs, but for those of us who have sedans and hatchbacks, this works even better (considering the gap is also smaller on 4 door sedans)
Thank you kurgo! I will be posting a video of my "backseat bridge" on youtube soon!

  10. Can finally take 3 big dogs on a comfortable car ride!

Posted by Carla on 16th Sep 2011

My husband and I recently purchased the Backseat Bridge in hopes that it would help us be able to take our three big dogs on car rides much easier. And boy has it done just that. We have a Border Collie, a Pitbull, and a Black Lab who greatly enjoy going for car rides. Unfortunately, it was always a struggle getting them all to fit on the seat and not slide down onto the floor. We saw an ad for the Backseat Bridge and decided to give it a shot. Boy are we happy we did. It holds up to the weight of our three big dogs (combined weight of approx. 200+ lbs.). Installing it was a breeze once we read the instructions- don't try to "just figure it out". We would reccommend this product to anyone who is in a similiar situation to us. It has allowed us to increase the number of car rides we take our dogs on and has made the car rides much more enjoyable for them and us.
