This is an update on my previous review. I purchased the Stowe Hammock with high hopes of it lasting for awhile, since it is so expensive. That didn't happen. The hammock is still in pretty good shape, although the velcro on the sides doesnt stay closed all the time. The real problems are the straps, plastic clips and grommets. The hammock is now too large for the back seat. I don't know if it stretches but it hangs loosely in between the headrests now. One of the strap clips has already broken. Good thing I attached the back headrests with the d-rings instead of the straps, so I have an extra one. The grommets that the straps are attached to are all coming out of the fabric. Our boxer doesn't sit quietly in the car but by now means does he run back and forth between windows either.
If you have a smaller dog that does sit quietly, I'm sure this would hold up much better. I think I will be going back to the hammocks made of stiffer, waterproof material just to get more wear out of it. Very sad that this didn't work out. I'll probably use just the hammock itself as a blanket for the seat.
Kurgo Note: We are so sorry to hear, Mary, that the hammock did not hold up for you. It sounds like this situation could qualify for coverage under our Lifetime Warranty. Please contact our Customer Service Team at email@example.com and they will assess the product and help you out.

We have a 70lb Boxer that LOVES to car ride! This hammock is comfy and soft for our pooch and he likes it. It doesn't extend all the way to the sides of our back seat however (Kia Sorento) and is much more lightweight than I thought it would be, so it moves around ALOT. Our boy loves to sightsee and does go from window to window periodically and the hammock tends to move with him. It really hasn't stopped the hair from clogging up my seats. The straps that hook it onto the headrests are just pieces of fabric and don't look very sturdy. I will know more about that when we take our semi-annual trip to Montana in June. I give it 3 stars for the comfort only.

I just installed this hammock and it seems well made but I wish it were a few inches wider for my car seat(2012 BMW 5 Series) and it does seem to move around when the dog gets in or out, but I may need to adjust it after a few more uses. Overall I'm pleased with it.

Fits and looks really nice in my Rav4. Quality materials and quality construction. I like it when others mention their car types, it gives a better idea of how it will fit.

This hammock was nice quality, it just didn't work for my car( Mercedes C class). I sent it back . No credit yet. (18 days)

Fits handsomely in the back of my Volvo sedan; my four-legged passengers seem to appreciate this soft to the touch covering. The high quality of the materials used in it's manufacture will ensure this hammock lasting for a long time. Pay once, cry once I say; this hammock will not disappoint!

The dog seems more comfortable and maybe feels safer, as this hammock-type thing works great in my subaru forester. She can no longer climb through to the front seat, so she IS safer, and the fleece and under-canvas are protecting the vehicle from her sandy underbelly.
I am glad I splurged onthis product.

I have a 1 year old rat terrier who was a terror in the car - anxious, whining, jumping and falling all over the place. I bought this hammock as I though part of our problem might be the slippery leather seats made her feel unsafe. I installed the hammock (I had to monkey around with it to get it to fit smoothly in my smaller SUV) but was really pleased with the result. This item combined with the Adventure harness with car tether strap has helped! After 2 months of desentization (my neighbors think I'm crazy I think) we are able to go for enjoyable trips in the car. Yay Kurgo!

I have a 10 year old Golden Retriever, and this is the third seat cover that I bought, the other ones either broke or slipped.
This cover is well made, and does not slip, we just came back from a vacation, and the cover did not slip at all. I always felt so bad when the other covers would slip and he would get stuck between the seats, he is getting older and this is not a good situation for him.

Bought the Stowe Hammock for a trip to Florida from Chicago. It stood up to our three pomeranians (each 15 pounds)and kept all the snow, sand and hair contained and not all over the truck. The hammock itself is very thick and durable, soft & very cushioned. The size was perfect with full coverage for our truck's backseats. Washes well in cold on a light wash and hang to dry. Just make sure to remove the plastic attachments. Vacuums well too while still in vehicle! Used this hammock with a zip line, tethers and harnesses. The dogs were safe & very comfortable! Great product!
